On Tuesday, April 4, former President Donald Trump was arrested in the United States. He has now arrived at the courtroom where he will be charged. He did not want to talk to journalists.

This was reported by CNN. Before his arrest, Trump arrived at the Manhattan District Attorney's office, where he is being held (to see photos and videos, scroll to the bottom of the page).

"It is expected that Trump will not be handcuffed after his arrest, as he will remain under the constant protection of law enforcement," the statement said.

The 45th US president is also expected to be fingerprinted, although it is not yet known whether his mugshot will be taken.

Before his arrest, Donald Trump published a post on his social media platform TruthSocial.

"Heading to Lower Manhattan, the Courthouse. Seems so surreal - wow, they're going to arrest me. Can't believe this is happening in America," he wrote.

This is a truly historic moment in US history, as Trump will be the first sitting or former US president to face criminal charges.

Meanwhile, the White House has said that it is prepared for unrest over Trump's trial. They also added that the current US leader, Joe Biden, is "not interested" in Trump's indictment in New York.

Trump entered the courtroom to be arraigned. The judge rejected a request from journalists to broadcast the hearing.

According to NBC News, Trump pleaded not guilty to all 34 charges.

Meanwhile, people gathered outside the courthouse, both Trump supporters and those who want him to be brought to justice. The area was guarded by law enforcement officers.

Recall that Trump will appear before a Lower Manhattan court in the case of hush money payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels. He will face 34 criminal charges.
