Karpin accused of indifference

Russian Sports Minister Oleg Matytsin has criticised the head coach of the national football team, Valery Karpin, and accused him of indifference to his job. The official did not like the words of the national team coach that he was not holding on to his position and was ready to leave at any time.

Matytsin said this in an interview with the propaganda TV channel Match TV. He spoke pompously about the unity of Russian aggressors and hinted that Karpin has both Spanish and Estonian passports, so he should decide which side he is on.

"The head coach of the Russian national football team is not just the face of the team, he is the face of the country. The coach teaches schemes and tactics of the game, discipline, but most importantly, he is an authority and a role model of decent behaviour. Every word he says sets the right mood for the athletes and millions of Russian fans. We want the athletes to be proud to go to every match and do their best for the Russian flag. An expression of indifference in sport is a road to nowhere. Therefore, you need to make a clear decision: are you with us - the team, the fans, Russia, or are you on your own," Matytsin was indignant.

Note that on March 23, the Russian national team failed to defeat Iran in a friendly match (1:1), and the day before they beat Iraq (2:0).

As reported by OBOZREVATEL, Russian singer Sergey Lemokh from the group "Kar-Man" responded to a complete ignoring of the request to perform before the match of the Russian national soccer team.
