American blogger Conner McBee is known for traveling to places usually considered unsafe for tourists. Over the past year, the 29-year-old American has visited, among other places, Ukraine, where the war unleashed by Russia continues.

The most terrifying moment for the tourist was the air-raid alarm. He told this in an interview with MailOnline Travel.

As the war in Ukraine continues, both the U.S. State Department and the FCDO are warning against any form of travel to Ukraine. McBee's video titled "How Dangerous Is Ukraine?" documents his entire trip to the western Ukrainian city of Lviv last September, at a time when air-raid sirens were going off "every day."

"I was stopped next to a police station, and the sirens were right outside my window. The first time it happened, I was terrified. I thought, 'What the hell am I doing here? - he recounted.

McBee added that he was "amazed" at the kindness the Ukrainians showed him.

"I remember one occasion when I tried to pay for my coffee, but I didn't have enough coins, and when I reached for my wallet, the woman behind me insisted on paying. As soon as I refused her offer, she actually grabbed my hand to keep me from paying with my own money and instead shoved her money into the machine," he said, calling the moment "touching."

Another highlight was a blind date with a Ukrainian model who ended up showing him the city.

But, he says, one of the most frightening moments came on Sept. 21, 2022, when Kremlin dictator Volodymyr Putin announced the mobilization of 300,000 Russian military reservists. McBee, who was in Kyiv at the time, recalls, "When the air-raid sirens sounded the next day, I knew it was time to leave."

He then embarked on a two-day motorcycle ride from Kyiv to the Moldovan border.

As OBOZREVATEL reported, Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie arrived in Ukraine. The star is a goodwill ambassador for refugees at the UN and probably came to support the Ukrainians in the war against Russia.
