Why bake potatoes in salt: an unexpected answer
If you want to cook potatoes in a new way, you should bake them in salt and herbs. It is important to use sea salt: it makes the vegetable healthy and retains moisture well. Baked potatoes with herbs and oil are especially delicious.
Food blogger Myroslava Shevchenko, known as myroslava_sheva, shared a recipe for baked potatoes in salt on her Instagram page.
Ingredients:
- potatoes
- fresh herbs (rosemary, sage)
- green oil (oil + parsley/spinach)
- coarse sea salt
- freshly ground pepper
Method of preparation:
1. Wash and dry potatoes thoroughly. Peeling is not necessary.
2. Sprinkle a thick layer of sea salt on a baking sheet. Use sea salt as it enhances the flavor of the product without over-salting it. Put the potatoes on top.
3. Put herbs under each potato. Cover the baking sheet with foil and bake at 180 degrees for 50-60 minutes.
4. Meanwhile, prepare green oil. Mix oil with chopped parsley or spinach.
5. Serve the finished potatoes with green oil and sprinkle with coarse sea salt and freshly ground pepper.
