Stollen is a traditional German dessert prepared for Christmas. In Ukraine, the dish has also become very popular in recent years. But in order to make it a success, start making it now, because the longer the product is kept in a cool place after baking, the tastier it is.
The idea of making a festive Stollen for Christmas was published on the Instgaram page of food blogger Svitlana Levitskaya (lanas_diet). The chef notes that it is very important to choose high-quality yeast so that the dough rises well - then you can add a lot of dried fruit, and the dessert will turn out to be tastier.

Ingredients:
- flour - 650-700 g
- milk - 300 ml
- sugar - 1 tbsp
- yeast - 50 g
- zest of 1 lemon
- soft warm butter - 180 g
- a pinch of salt
- candied fruit - 80 g
- raisin mix - 500 g
- dried cherries - 100 g
- 100 ml of rum / cognac
- 100 g of almonds
- a pinch of cinnamon, cardamom and nutmeg - optional
- 100 g of melted butter
- 100 g of icing sugar

1. Pour the dried fruit with rum for at least a day and leave it to infuse so that it is evenly saturated with the flavor. Do not forget to turn it regularly.
2. Pour boiling water over the almonds for about 5 minutes, peel them, dry them in the oven at 100 degrees for about an hour, and grind them into coarse pieces.

3. Dilute the yeast in warm milk.
4. Add a spoonful of sugar and 250 grams of flour, knead thoroughly and leave to rise for 20-30 minutes.

5. Add the zest, salt, butter, flour to the dough - knead the dough and set aside to rise for about 40 minutes. Knead and leave it to rise again.
6. While the dough is rising, dry the dried fruit, add spices and mix.

7. Carefully mix dried fruits, candied fruits and ground almonds into our dough. Divide into 2 parts and form two Stollens.
8. Cover with a towel and let rise for 30 minutes.

9. Bake at 180 degrees for about an hour. Make sure that the top does not burn. If necessary, cover with parchment.
10. Put foil on the table, parchment on top. Put the hot Stollen on top and brush with melted butter.

11. Sprinkle with powder, quickly wrap while still hot.
12. Wrap the top in plastic wrap.
