Korean spiced beets: how to make a delicious appetizer

Beetroot is a very healthy and budget-friendly vegetable that is added to a variety of salads and first courses. It can even be used to make an independent Korean appetizer. The dish will go well with any porridge, pasta, and meat.

The idea of cooking beets in Korean was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Alexandra with the nickname sashka.sn. The appetizer is very juicy.

Ingredients:

  • beets (raw) - 500 g.
  • vinegar - 2-3 tbsp (focus on your taste).
  • salt - 0.5 tsp.
  • sugar - 1 tsp.
  • vegetable oil - 100 g.
  • garlic - 2-3 cloves.
  • ground black pepper - 0.5 tsp.
  • ground red pepper - 0.5 tsp.

Method of preparation:

1. The beets must be firm, otherwise they will be difficult to grate.

2. Peel, rinse, dry, grate the vegetable on a Korean grater.

3. Add vinegar, salt, sugar to the beets.

4. Stir and let stand.

5. Drain off the excess liquid.

6. Add garlic (chopped), black and red pepper.

7. Mix everything well.

8. Heat the oil, bring it almost to a boil and pour it over the beets.
