Melts in your mouth: how to make "Truffles" cookies with boiled egg yolks
If you're looking for a non-trivial, simple, yet delicious dessert, you should pay attention to shortbread cookies made from boiled egg yolks. It is said that its recipe is quite old, as these cookies were once traditionally baked for weddings. The delicacy is very tender, and fragile, and just melts in your mouth.
Food blogger Mariia Mykhalchenko (smakoluk.ua) shared a recipe for delicious "Truffles" cookies with boiled egg yolks on her Instagram page.
Ingredients:
- boiled egg yolks – 4 pcs
- butter/margarine – 150 g
- sugar – 100 g
- vanilla sugar – 1 tsp.
- flour – 200 g
Additionally:
- powdered sugar – 2 tbsp.
- cocoa – 2 tbsp.
Method of preparation:
1. Rub the yolks through a fine sieve.
2. Add room-temperature butter, sugar, and vanilla to the yolks. Mix with a fork until smooth.
3. Add the flour and knead the soft dough.
4. Shape the dough into cones. Put in the freezer for 10 minutes.
5. Bake the cookies in a preheated 180-degree oven for about 20-25 minutes.
6. After baking, let the cookies stand for a few minutes. Mix powdered sugar and cocoa.
7. Roll the cookies in the mixture.
