Onions and garlic are among the most popular products in our kitchens. That's why many housewives buy these products in large quantities so that they are always on hand. However, it often happens that excess onions or garlic have to be thrown in the trash because they have spoiled.

Monica Matheny, a culinary expert and founder of The Yummy Life, told the Mirror that she used to have problems with storing onions and garlic. She used to store them in the kitchen drawer and then throw away the rotten remains. However, Grammy's mom came to their rescue.

She told Monika that to extend the shelf life of these vegetables, you just need to put them in a paper bag with holes in it. This way, the shelf life of onions, garlic, and even shallots can be extended by several months.

Thus, to make your vegetables last much longer, you will need: a hole punch, paper clips, and an ordinary paper bag. Make holes in the bag, put the vegetables in it, wrap it up and fasten it with paper clips.
