Meatballs can be used to make not only soup but also a hearty pie for lunch. For the base, you'll need regular puff pastry, so you won't need to knead anything. The dish is baked quite quickly and will not take you much time.

The idea of making a pie with meatballs for lunch was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Myroslava Krutii (miroslavakrutii). The filling is very juicy.

Ingredients:

  • puff pastry without yeast - 500 g

For the meatballs:

  • 300 g of minced meat
  • 1 egg
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • salt, black pepper
  • 2 tbsp of green parsley
  • 1 tsp. of flour

Method of preparation:

1. Put all the ingredients in a bowl.

2. Mix everything well.

3. Form small meatballs.

4. Fry them for 1 minute on each side, do not cook until done.

5. Cut two onions into half rings and fry until slightly golden brown.

6. You can add pepper or carrots, mushrooms, salt, black pepper, and garlic.

7. Cool. If there is excess fat, remove it with a napkin.

Additional ingredients:

  • 100 g of hard cheese
  • 5 cherry tomatoes (you can do without)

Method of preparation:

1. Roll out the puff pastry a little, grease the mold with oil and put the dough in.

2. Brush with tomato sauce, put onions and the rest of the additional ingredients.

3. Then add meatballs, small pieces of cheese and tomatoes, but not too much.

4. Pour the filling and make a "lattice" of the remaining dough.

5. Grease with egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

6. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees, put the cake in the oven and bake for 10 minutes at 200 degrees and another 25 minutes at 180 degrees.

Ingredients for the filling:

  • 3 eggs
  • 150 g of cream cheese or tender cottage cheese
  • 150 g of cream or heavy sour cream
  • salt, pepper

Method of preparation:

1. Mix everything well and pour over the pie.

2. First preheat the oven, make the filling, and then assemble the cake.

3. After baking, cool the cake for 10 minutes, remove from the mold and serve.
