Hearty meat croquettes: how to make a simple alternative to any fast food

Fast food can be not only delicious but also healthy and safe. Especially the one we cook at home. In this case, croquettes – crispy meatballs made from meat dough – are perfect. The dish is prepared very simply from budget ingredients and can easily replace traditional nuggets.

The idea of cooking meat croquettes in Spanish is published on the Instagram page of food blogger Halyna (cooking_with_gala).

Ingredients:

  • oil – 90 ml
  • flour – 100 g
  • milk – 750 ml
  • salt – 1 tsp.
  • black pepper – 1/8 tsp.
  • nutmeg – 1/4 tsp.
  • meat (boiled, baked) – 300 g
  • onion – 1 pc.

Ingredients for breading:

  • flour
  • eggs – 2 pcs.
  • breadcrumbs
  • oil

Method of preparation:

1. Chop the onion, and stew in vegetable oil.

2. Grind the meat and onions with an immersion blender until smooth.

3. Pour oil into a saucepan, heat and stir in flour, pour hot milk, and add seasonings.

4. Cook, stirring, until thickened.

5. Pour the mixture into the meat and mix thoroughly.

6. Put into a rectangular shape, cover with cling film in contact, cool, and leave in the refrigerator for 12 hours.

7. Add salt (1/2 tsp) to the eggs and beat with a fork.

7. Bread the slices on all sides: first dip them in flour, then in beaten eggs, and finally in breadcrumbs.

8. Fry in vegetable oil until golden brown.

9. Put on a paper towel.
