Pie with a sauerkraut filling in 5 minutes: what to cook for lunch

Housewives love pies with fillings because they are incredibly tasty, nutritious, and easy to prepare. To make a pie, you just need to pour the batter into a mold, add the filling and put it in the oven. This saves a lot of time and effort.

A food blogger with the nickname elena_ermolenko__ shared a recipe for a pie on Instagram. She made a pie with stewed cabbage, but the filling can be any.

Ingredients for the filling

  • sauerkraut - 1.5 kg
  • onion - 1 pc.
  • tomato puree - 260 g

Ingredients for the batter

  • kefir or sour cream - 400 ml
  • eggs - 2 pcs.
  • flour - 250 g
  • salt - 0.5 tsp
  • baking powder - 1 tsp.

Making filling:

1. Finely chop onion and fry it.

2. Add cabbage and tomato puree.

3. Simmer for about 30 minutes. Stir 3-4 times during this time.

Making pie:

1. Add eggs to kefir at room temperature.

2. Mix flour, salt and baking powder separately and add to the kefir mixture. Stir until smooth.

3. Pour half of the batter into a greased baking dish, add the filling and cover with the other half of the batter.

4. Put the cake in a preheated 180-degree oven for 40 minutes.
