Budget yogurt and sour cream cheese: how to make at home
It will be much cheaper if you make cream cheese at home. For this, you will need regular sour cream and yogurt. The consistency is very tender, soft and moderately thick.
The idea of making homemade cream cheese from yogurt and sour cream was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Daria with the nickname treskablog. Add lemon juice and salt for flavor and piquancy.
Ingredients:
- 30% sour cream
- Turkish yogurt
- 1 tbsp. lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp. salt
Method of preparation:
1. Mix sour cream and yogurt in a bowl.
2. Squeeze in the lemon juice.
3. Add salt.
4. Put a sieve in a bowl, and put cheesecloth folded in four layers.
5. Put the curd mass, and wrap the cheesecloth.
6. Put the oppression on top.
7. Leave the structure in this state for 12 minutes.
8. Then remove the oppression, and take out the cheesecloth.
9. The cream cheese is ready – it can be used for cooking.
