Basic walnut tea cookies made from crispy dough: enough for the whole family
To ensure that you always have something for tea at home, make simple homemade cookies. It will be much easier than any cake and no less delicious. You can make a crispy dough based on butter, and put a nut filling inside.
The idea of making homemade walnut cookies for tea was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Khrystyna with the nickname kris_estet. They take a maximum of 25 minutes to bake.
Ingredients for the dough:
- soft butter - 120 g
- egg yolk - 2 pcs.
- flour - 230 g
- water - 3-4 tbsp
- sugar - 40 g
- salt - 0.5 tsp
- baking powder - 1 tsp.
Ingredients for the filling:
- walnuts (pre-fry a little in a dry frying pan) - 220 g
- sugar - 100 g
- protein - 2 pcs.
Method of preparation:
1. Combine flour, salt, sugar, baking powder in a bowl.
2. Add the soft butter and rub the mixture well with your hands.
3. Add 2 egg yolks and water.
4. Mix well and gather the dough into a ball.
5. Put the finished dough in cling film and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
6. At this time, beat the pre-roasted nuts in a blender, combine with sugar and two egg whites.
7. Mix everything well.
8. Take the dough out of the refrigerator, roll it out, cut it into a rectangle shape.
9. Flatten and put the nut mixture in the middle, fold both edges to the center.
10. Then cut into portioned biscuits and place seam side down on parchment.
11. Sprinkle the biscuits with crushed sin on top.
12. You can roll out a more elongated and narrower layer of dough and assemble small cookies in the amount of 25 pieces.
13. Bake for 20-25 minutes in a preheated 180 degree oven and sprinkle with powdered sugar on top.
