Pita bread can be used to make delicious appetizers, hot sandwiches, pizza, lasagna, salads, and desserts. In addition, you can make pita bread at home.
The cook shared a recipe for a delicious pita bread dish with cheese filling and herbs on Instagram.
Ingredients:
- round pita bread (tortilla) – 2 pcs.
- hard cheese (preferably mozzarella or suluguni) – 160-180 g
- green onions – a small bunch
- dill – a small bunch
- Provencal herbs – 1 tsp.
- cottage cheese – 160 g
- salt – 1/3 tsp.
- eggs – 2 pcs.
- ground black pepper – to taste
- sesame seeds for sprinkling
Method of preparation:
1. Brush the pita bread with beaten egg and sprinkle with grated 1/2 cheese, cover with 2 pita breads on top, and press with your hands. Cut into 8 equal pieces and place the pita bread circle on the parchment.
2. For the filling: put the cottage cheese, grated cheese, chopped green onions, dill, egg, salt, pepper, and Provencal herbs in a bowl. Blend everything in a blender and spread the filling on the pita bread in a circle.
3. Wrap the edges of the pita bread inside, brush with beaten egg on top, and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
4. Bake in a preheated 200-degree oven for 10-15 minutes.
