What to add to mashed potatoes for an unusual flavor: just one ingredient

Mashed potatoes is the simplest potato dish that can be prepared with sour cream, milk, butter, and herbs. Sun-dried tomatoes, grated hard cheese, and garlic will add a bright flavor to the dish.
The cook shared a recipe for delicious, tender mashed potatoes with green onions and hot milk on Instagram.
Ingredients:
- 700 g of potatoes
- a bunch of green onions
- 250 g of milk
- 70 g butter + for serving
- salt and pepper
Method of preparation:
1. Peel, rinse, cut into 4 pieces and boil potatoes in salted water until tender.
2. Finely chop onion, add milk and bring to a boil. Set aside so that milk is soaked in the flavor of herbs.
3. Mash the cooked potatoes, adding milk and onion. Then add a piece of butter and beat with a blender.
When serving, put the mashed potatoes on a plate, make a depression in the center and add a piece of cold butter.
