Mashed potatoes can be a separate hearty dish or a basis for making pies, casseroles, dumplings, and zrazy.
Cook Valentyna shared a recipe for a hearty potato pie with fish and peas on Instagram.
Ingredients:
- fish fillet - 750 g
- onion - 1 pc.
- cilantro and parsley - to taste
- lemon zest - to taste
- garlic - 3 cloves
- peas - 100 g
For the potato layer:
- potatoes - 750 g
- butter - 50 g
- cream - 50 g
- milk - 100 g
- mozzarella or other hard cheese - 50 g
- salt, pepper, oil
Method of preparation:
1. Boil potatoes. Add butter and mash them.
2. For the filling, chop onion and fry it until golden brown. Then add fish, herbs, garlic and lemon zest. Stew everything, breaking up the lumps for about 10 minutes. Then add peas.
3. Put the fish filling on the bottom of the baking dish, then the potato layer on top. Bake for 10-15 minutes.
