Snack croissants for a festive table: any filling can be prepared
The New Year appetizers can be made not only from tartlets, but also from puff pastry, which can be used to make, for example, mini croissants, filling them with various fillings.
Cook Iryna shared a recipe for delicious appetizer croissants with cream cheese, red fish, and herbs on Instagram.
Ingredients:
Base:
- Puff pastry
Filling:
- cream cheese
- cucumber
- balyk/red fish
- greens
Method of preparation:
1. Defrost the dough well, roll it out into a 3-4 mm thick rectangle, and cut it into 17 triangles. Wrap each triangle in a roll to form small croissants. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet, cover with a towel and let rise for about 30 minutes in a warm place.
2. Brush with egg yolk mixed with 1 tbsp of water and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake for about 12-15 minutes at 180C until golden brown.
3. Let the croissants cool, cut them in half. Spread both halves with cream cheese. Put a cucumber, fish, or balyk on the bottom half, and top with greens. Cover with the second half and secure with a skewer.
