Perfect pilaf without rice: how to replace the main ingredient
The perfect dish for a hearty lunch is pilaf. The classic version is made with rice, but if you want it to be light, replace the rice with bulgur and the pork with chicken, for example.
Culinarian Tatiana Litvinova shared on Instagram a recipe for delicious bulgur pilaf, with chicken meat, vegetables and spices.
Ingredients:
- Bulgur - 400 g
- Onions - 250 g
- Carrots - 300 g
- Boneless chicken thigh - 700 g
- Spices for pilaf - 1 tbsp,
- Salt - 1 tbsp.
- Barberry - 1 tbsp.
- Garlic - head
- Chili pepper - as desired
- Oil - 40 gr
How to prepare:
1. chop the onions finely, cut the carrots into julienne strips.
2. Heat the wok, add oil and fry the onion, and after 5 minutes carrots.After 5 minutes, add the chopped meat, fry for 10 minutes.
3. Wash bulgur and add it to the meat and vegetables, add garlic and spices and cook for 5-8 minutes.
4. Next, pour 1.5 liters of water, so that it covers all the ingredients of the pilaf on top 2-3 cm. Leave to cook until all water has boiled out. Cover with the lid and serve the dish hot.
