Cook Ksenia shared a recipe for delicious homemade pickled herring with lemon and onions on Instagram.
Ingredients:
- Herring - 1 pc.
- Onion - 1 pc.
- Lemon - 1/2 pc.
- Oil - 2 tbsp. l.
- Salt - 3 tbsp. l.
- Sugar - 1 tbsp
- Vinegar - 2 tbsp. l
- Ground pepper - a pinch
- Water at room temperature - 750 ml
Method of preparation:
1. Disassemble the herring, remove everything inside, rinse it with water. Cut into pieces, do not remove the skin.
2. Cut onion into rings, lemon into half rings.
3. Put a layer of herring in the jar, a layer of onions and lemon on top, and continue until you run out of ingredients. Add sugar, salt, pepper, vinegar, oil, and cover with water. Put it in the fridge to marinate!
