"Make love, don't fight": Romania's representative at Eurovision Song Contest 2023 makes an important call from the stage in the second semi-final

Romanian representative at the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 Theodor Andrei

On Thursday, May 11, the second semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 kicked off in Liverpool, where representatives from 16 countries are competing to reach the next stage. Theodor Andrei, a 19-year-old representative of Romania, has a chance to get into the top ten, presenting his powerful track called D.G.T. (Off and On).

In his song, the vocalist told a love story in which reason conflicts with instinct, and reason tries to resist passion. However, after the performance, Theodor Andrei made an important and urgent appeal on stage. OBOZREVATEL learned about this while watching the live broadcast.

Thus, the performer expressed his anti-war stance in one phrase: "Make love, don't fight!"

As for the musician's competition single, he said the following about it: "The song is about love becoming an addiction with its good and bad sides, as well as the pleasure of love. It's about returning to something destructive, where love is not justified, but adrenaline makes the decision, the inevitable evil with love and everything it means - passion, tears, smiles, childhood, maturity, trust, risk, truth and lies."

Bookmakers predict that Romania will finish 32nd this year.
