Legendary tennis player Serena Williams, who is attending the 2024 Olympic Games and had the opportunity to be a torchbearer at the opening ceremony, got into an unpleasant situation with one of the best restaurants in Paris, France. The athlete came to The Peninsula Paris to eat on the roof of the hotel, but was refused service by the staff in the allegedly empty restaurant.

Williams publicly shared her indignation on the social network X. The tennis player visited the restaurant with her two children, 6-year-old Olympia and 11-month-old Adira.

"My God, The Peninsula Paris has denied me access to the roof to eat in an empty restaurant in nicer places, but never with my kids. There's a first time for everything," Serena Williams was outraged.

However, the administration responded to the complaint quite quickly, apologized and clarified the situation. It turned out that the hall was full, and the seemingly free tables were reserved.

"Dear Mrs. Williams, please accept our deepest apologies for the disappointment you have experienced tonight. Unfortunately, our rooftop bar was indeed fully booked, and the only free tables you saw were from our gourmet restaurant, L'Oiseau Blanc, which was fully reserved. We have always been honored to host you and will always be happy to see you again," the establishment responded to the claim.

Representatives of the restaurant commented on the situation to Metro and noted that they had offered the sports star an alternative, but, based on Williams' indignation, she refused.

"As an alternative, Mrs. Williams was offered a table downstairs at La Terrasse Kléber," the explanation read.

In particular, in the comments to Serena Williams' outrageous tweet, social media users accused the athlete of her impudence:
