A Cartier engagement ring and 5000 roses: a famous Ukrainian blogger boasted of an engagement for a million hryvnias during the war

The famous Ukrainian blogger Candy Superstar, who has almost 1.5 million followers on Instagram, is getting married. The Internet star's boyfriend, Yegor, spent at least a million hryvnias on the proposal, as the engagement ring alone from the elite Cartier jewelry house can cost from 20 to 40 thousand dollars (these prices are listed on the brand's official website).

A blogger with deep pink hair posted a video on her personal Instagram page showing a guy proposing to her. Some Ukrainians called it "played-up ostentation" and "wastefulness" that is inappropriate in a full-scale war.

"Yes, yes, yes! 5 years ago, our story began, and now a new one is beginning. I've watched this video a million times and every time I have tears in my eyes... Not a proposal, just a dream," Candy herself captioned the footage.

Yes, Yegor ordered five thousand red roses and hundreds of balloons in the shape of red hearts. All this was brought to the apartment where the lovers live.

For Candy, it was all kind of a surprise that she didn't know about. Yehor invited his blogger friends to his house. He blindfolded his beloved and took her to his apartment, where a precious 30-diamond engagement ring and a room full of lush roses were waiting for her.

"I said YES. Now I'm a bride, I'm writing and I still can't believe it, ahhhhh," the celebrity shared.

Some commenters were quick to congratulate the couple, while others asked the newlyweds a very logical and obvious question: "Do you really think it's appropriate to throw so much money down the drain in the current realities, and to flaunt it all?"
