Nick was born on December 4, 1982, in Melbourne, Australia, to Serbian immigrants with a pathology: the boy had tetraamelia syndrome, a rare disorder in which a person has neither arms nor legs. It was extremely difficult for the boy to accept himself as such. He did not understand why this happened and how to live with it.

Nick was the first student with a disability to be allowed to attend a regular school in Australia. Despite this, his peers still considered him different. But he never gave up, and now he embraces his unique appearance. His father used to tell him, "You are a gift, just wrapped differently." Today, Nick lives by this motto.

A school janitor helped Nick find his purpose. He kept telling him that he should speak in front of his peers, and tell them about all the difficulties he faced every day. Nick did it. And he never stopped.

Today, Nick Vujicic is one of the most popular speakers of our time. Every day he receives about 100 offers of interviews and lectures from all over the world. Nick and Kanae met for the first time in 2010, and he knew instantly that he was in love. There was a small event in Dallas where Nick was invited as a speaker, and Kanae was among the audience.
