Activist kicked off red carpet at Cannes

The night before, a demonstrator wearing a dress in the colours of the Ukrainian flag staged a dramatic protest against Russian aggression on the red carpet of the Cannes Film Festival. Before the screening of the film Acid by French director Juste Philippe, Ukrainian blogger and fitness trainer Ilona Chernobay approached the photographers and poured artificial blood on herself, after which she was rudely escorted away.

The demonstrator hid the "blood" in her cleavage so that it would not be immediately declassified. The details of the incident were reported by the Daily Mail (scroll to the bottom of the page to see photos and videos).

It is reported that the activist appeared dressed in an evening dress with a long train, heels and a clutch. It was difficult to distinguish her from the other guests, so she entered the carpet unhindered.

Turning to the photographers, she pulled out a clotted blood from her neckline and tore it over her head. A security guard quickly approached the demonstrator and, grabbing her roughly, took her away from the guests. At this time, she was able to smear the liquid on her neck.

The Ukrainian managed to take a photo, but a few seconds later, other guards ran up to her and abruptly pushed her off the red carpet. In this way, she tried to draw attention to the genocide of Ukrainians.

"There are people from different countries at the Cannes Film Festival: Britain, Spain, Poland, Germany. Imagine that someone could come and kill you for flying your country's flag. Ukrainians do not need to imagine. They put themselves in danger every hour not only for having a flag, but even for speaking Ukrainian. Our main task is to show that Ukraine does not give up its territories and people. We know what is waiting for us in Donetsk, Luhansk and Yalta, despite any myths of Russian propaganda," said Ilona Chernobay.

Earlier, OBOZREVATEL wrote that Russian actress, TV presenter and former contestant of the reality TV show Dom-2 Victoria Bonya has been disgraced at the Cannes Film Festival for the second year in a row. This time, she was ridiculed for her terrible make-up.
