Ukrainian designer Oleksii Zalevskyi admitted to having sex with a man and explained why all famous designers are gay

Designer and stylist Oleksii Zalevskyi said that although he had an intimate experience with a man three decades ago, he cannot call himself gay because he has not had sex with members of the same sex since. He also confirmed that there are many gay men in the design community and suggested why men dress better than women.

According to Zalevskyi, he himself has many close friends who are part of LGBTQ+ community. The Ukrainian spoke about this in an interview with TSN for the project Naodyntsi (Alone).

When asked why all the most famous designers of today are gay, he recalled the history of fashion from the very beginning and its dramatic changes several centuries ago, when trends began to focus on women.

"I've been thinking about this topic for a long time. I've come up with an answer: a woman subconsciously cannot dress another woman beautifully. You may kill me, but this is a subconscious natural existence. When I work, I still understand as an artist, as an outsider, what a person will wear, what they won't wear, what suits them, what doesn't suit them. That is, I work with some other mechanisms," the designer shared his thoughts.

According to him, nature has laid down that males are brighter in color than females, so men have always dressed extraordinarily in fashion.

This changed, the stylist believes, several centuries ago when women began to fight for their rights. However, even though bold and bright trends are now inherent in women's style, they are still mostly created by male designers.

"Coming back to gay culture and designers, the male view of the female image is still... Well, you look at it differently. Why are gay men better designers than women? Because they are more creative, that is, they have no limits to their shamelessness," Oleksii suggested.

The Ukrainian doesn't consider himself gay. However, he doesn't deny that he might like a man. According to the designer, he takes into account the emotional component of relationships and has only good memories of intimacy with a man 30 years ago. He added that now he is not attracted to members of his own sex.
