The strangest Christmas records to try to break at home: from eating pies to decorating your beard
The Guinness Book of World Records is full of all sorts of strange records. And Christmas is a great time to break one of them. This holiday is a special time when everyone gathers together to enjoy the warmth of the family circle, bright decorations and aromas of festive dishes. For some, it's a time to relax, while for others it's an opportunity to create unforgettable memories.
It turns out that many of the records set do not require complicated conditions or special equipment, and they can be easily repeated at home. The Guinness Book of Records has collected some interesting ways to spend time.
The largest number of Christmas toys or candies in a beard
A real Santa Claus can be created by having enough Christmas ornaments for the tree or caramel canes, as well as a long beard. The record for the largest number of Christmas attributes in a beard belongs to Joel Strasser, who decorated it with 710 balls in December 2022 and 187 caramels in 2023.
Fastest time to wrap a person in gift paper
"Team up with seven friends to break the record for the fastest wrapping of a person with gift wrapping paper by a team of eight. The impressive record of 41.10 seconds was set by two rival families from the United States when siblings Sharon and Matt rallied their relatives during a family vacation," the source said.
According to the editors of the Guinness Book of World Records, in order to break this record, one must be prepared - have the skills of "project management, careful planning" and practice a lot.
Fastest time to eat three pies
52.21 seconds - that's how long it took Leah Shutkever to eat three meat pies. The woman has set similar records several times, but it is Christmas pastries that are associated with the winter holidays.
The fastest time to dress up as a Christmas elf
The fastest time to dress up as a Christmas elf is 24.63 seconds. It was set by German Andre Ortolf in 2023. However, the whole look includes not only basic clothes but also the main attributes that are typical for elves: a hat, pointy ears, pointy shoes, and a belt.
The fastest time to assemble a gingerbread house
It's not often that a gingerbread house is difficult to achieve stability during assembly, but Oscar Linach was able to put the "building" together in just 1 minute and 58.26 seconds.
"This achievement requires both speed and precision, as each part must be carefully aligned to create a stable structure. It's a challenging test of skill, and once completed, you can enjoy a festive treat," the source said.
