The first official portrait of the King and Queen of Denmark is published
The first official portrait of King Frederik X and Queen Mary of Denmark has been released online. The monarch ascended the throne on January 14, 2024, after his mother Margrethe II officially abdicated after 52 years of rule.
The picture of the couple was published on the Instagram page of the Danish royal family. The portrait depicts Their Majesties with the Order of the Elephant on chains, the country's highest national award.
