Prince Harry refused to meet with King Charles III in London: what is the real reason

Prince Harry refuses to meet with King Charles III in London

Prince Harry and his father King Charles III never met in early May when they were both in London on business. It turned out that it was the son who refused to meet with the monarch, and not vice versa, as royal experts had suggested.

King Charles III invited Prince Harry, who now lives in the United States rather than Britain, to stay at the royal residence during his visit, but he declined the offer due to "security concerns." This was reported by The Telegraph.

The prince did not like the fact that no one guaranteed him personal security so as not to remain "in the public eye". Therefore, he decided that it would be safer to stay in a hotel for three days during the Invictus Games, for which he visited the UK for the first time in several months.

Since that trip, Prince Harry has been required to notify the Metropolitan Police of his arrival in the UK 28 days in advance if he wishes to be provided with security. It turned out that each request considered on an individual basis by a committee that oversees the protection of royals and public figures.

Earlier, royal experts suggested that the reason why King Charles III and his son, who has cancer, never met was due to their busy work schedules.

"In response to numerous questions and speculation about whether the Duke will meet with his father while in the UK this week, we would like to inform you that unfortunately this is not possible due to His Majesty's busy schedule. The Duke, of course, understands that his father has his own commitments and other priorities and hopes to see him in the near future," the insider said.

Subsequently, another reason for the lack of a meeting was Charles III's responsibility to other family members, which Prince Harry spoke of unoptimistically in his memoir Spare. This allegedly could have upset the balance between the royals.

"If he had met and said, 'Okay, all is forgiven, Harry,' then it could destroy the balance or the dynamic with other family members. I'm sure the king is very careful about those who attack the family. Hugging him, even if he loves him, will upset everyone else," expert Robert Jobson said.
