Jane Birkin has died
July 16, legendary Anglo-French actress and singer Jane Birkin died. The star was found dead in her home in Paris. She was 76 years old.
The tragic news was reported by the French edition of Le Parisien. The exact cause of death is not yet called, but it is known that recently the artist was fighting leukemia.
At the end of May, Birkin canceled all her concerts for health reasons. However, the star believed in recovery, as she confidently informed fans.
"I've always been a big optimist and I realize that I need a little more time to be able to go on stage again and be with you," the actress said a few months ago.
Birkin was born in London in 1946. She began filming in the 60's. So, the screens were released films "Photo Amplification" and "Kaleidoscope" with her participation.
In 1969, having already moved to France, the actress starred in the movie "Slogan", where her partner on the set was Serge Gainsbourg. It was the relationship with the scandalous French filmmaker, singer and songwriter brought Birkin special popularity. By the way, in 1971 the couple had a daughter Charlotte, who also became a famous singer and actress.
In 1969 Birkin recorded with Gainsbourg the famous song Je tʼaime... moi non plus, and in 1976 the movie "I love you... I don't love you either" with Birkin in the title role, directed by Gainsbourg, was released. For him, the actress was nominated for the French film award "César". Already in 1980 Birkin and Gainsbourg parted. The man died on March 2, 1991 in France.
