"In desperation, they hit rock bottom." Danylko sharply addressed the Russians who slandered him in a new fake news story
Ukrainian singer Andrii Danylko, known for his image of Verka Serdyuchka, reacted sharply to another fake spread by Russians. This time, the propagandists tried to discredit the artist using fictitious facts and unfounded accusations, "twisting" his words from an interview.
In his statement on InstaStories, Danylko called the Russians' actions another "bottom breaking". Such information attacks only demonstrate the weakness and panic of those behind them.
"Russian propagandists are desperate to break through the bottom... They are "translating" a text that did not exist. Is anyone surprised? No," the singer was furious.
In a video spread by Russians, Danylko's words about his knowledge of Russian and communication in it abroad were "twisted" and stated that the artist "changed his shoes" because he could not give up the language of the aggressor country and supported terrorists.
"Danylko cannot give up the Russian language. Covering his other chin with a mask, he "changes his shoes" and says that he cannot give up Russian because most of his songs are written in Russian. Only a few months ago, he wrote terrible things about Russia and Putin in particular on his social media, maintained an extremely hostile attitude in his comments, and today he says: "I have a Latvian friend, so I don't know how to talk to her, she doesn't know Ukrainian, and I don't know Latvian, we only speak Russian and 'gibberish'... Should I speak the language of the aggressors, as they call it, just to discuss men, si-si-pi-si-si-s and get paid for my lousy songs?" the propagandists' statement read.
However, in reality, Andrii Danylko said that Russian was the only way to communicate abroad with natives of the USSR. He spoke about this during the scandalous music festival of Laima Vaikule in Jurmala, Latvia, when he talked to the organizer.
"If it wasn't for the Russian language, how could I talk to Laima? She doesn't speak Ukrainian, and I don't speak Latvian. She would only say "Good morning" and I would say "Paldies" ["Thank you"]. And that would be the end of it. This is often used, and they are right in their own way," the artist explained at the time.
