"I will not fall on my knees and hit my head." Dasha Trehubova says she has no regrets about starring in Russian band Leningrad's music video

Dasha Tregubova spoke about filming in the video "Leningrad"

Ukrainian actress Dasha Tregubova has admitted that she has no regrets about filming a music video for the Russian band Leningrad in 2020, like her colleague Taras Tsymbaliuk. The artist is unhappy that her decision outraged a part of society, but she is not inclined to reproach herself for her experience.

Neither four years ago nor now does the star feel guilty, as "the situation was somewhat different at that time," but in today's realities, a Ukrainian woman would not have dared to take such a step. Tregubova told Alina Dorotiuk about this in an interview on YouTube.

"I am very sorry that this has affected so many people. This is the only thing I regret. That it offended many people. I'm sorry that it offended my supporters. But I will not fall on my knees and hit my head. I respect myself, and I respect the decisions that were made," the actress explained.

She said that in any situation one should "take into account the context". In 2020, she said, it was acceptable because Ukrainians continued to cooperate with Russians on economic and cultural levels.

"You should always take into account the context. To appear in a video for Leningrad after a full-scale invasion is unacceptable to me. In 2020, the situation was somewhat different. We had many concerts by Russian musicians, Ukrainians attended them, and we shot movies for two countries," the star recalled.

Four years ago, the actress considered the Russian band's videos "masterpieces," and she sincerely liked Leningrad's work. Now the actress only regrets that the song "Mig" was "sh*t," but she considers her role "cool."

By the way, her co-star Taras Tsymbaliuk regretted the decision to appear in the Russian video almost immediately.

"My dad and I talked about it. A week after the video was shot, we had this conversation. Honestly, I regretted it right away, because I wasn't eating my last bread and could have refused. But I did not refuse, and now I regret it," the actor said.
