Hnatkovskyi calls for complete ban on Russian language in Ukraine: victims should not protect rapists

Oleksii Hnatkovskyi shamed supporters of the Russian language and literature

Oleksii Hnatkovskyi, a well-known Ukrainian film actor who starred in the movie "Dovbush", has shamed supporters of the Russian language and literature. In particular, the actor believes that one should first of all know Ukrainian culture and not tolerate the enemy.

He spoke in details about his position in an interview with 20minut.ua. Oleksii called the Russian language cursed, and Ukrainians who tolerate Russian as suffering from the "Stockholm syndrome".

"For some reason, we have been very tolerant until recently, so that, God forbid, the Russian language would not be 'infringed'. No! We must ban this language in principle! It must be destroyed at the root! Because it is a cursed language," the actor said.

In particular, he said that Ukrainians have long been victims of a hostile culture, and Oleksii asks not to support the Stockholm Syndrome, because the victim should not support his rapist.

"In my performances, I always say on stage that the last thing our soldiers hear when they are killed in captivity, or a woman being raped by six men at the same time, or a mother whose child is being raped in front of her is the damn Russian language. It is the Moscow Patriarchate and the Russian language that they have always fascinated us with, that comes before weapons. First, spirituality and culture, and then weapons and bombs. Therefore, we cannot continue to tolerate this. We must categorically refuse and forever forget about everything Russian!" believes Hnatkovskyi.

In particular, the actor used to love reading the enemy classic Fyodor Dostoevsky: "You see, even I, a sincere Banderite from western Ukraine, used to say that Dostoevsky was my favorite author. Seriously, I used to say that! I know English and French well, I read a lot of literature, and I was still tolerant of this issue."

Oleksii Hnatkovskyi recommended reading European and American authors, such as Henrik Ibsen, Remarque, Sienkiewicz, Bernard Shaw, and for children - Mark Twain. But first of all, it is worth learning about Ukrainian writers.

"By the way, I did a separate social project in Frankivsk on the 'Executed Renaissance' - about all the authors from the Slovo House who were killed or repressed by the Soviet Union in the 1930s. We know nothing about them! We've heard about Khvylovyi, Les Kurbas, and Kulish somewhere else, but what about the rest? People know absolutely nothing about Mykhailo Semenko and Mike Johansen. Because they were killed on purpose so that we would not know about them. So that Dostoevsky could come to us instead," the actor said.
