Hong Kong film actor and star of legendary action movies Jackie Chan has denied rumors about his health problems, which were provoked by a photo from his last public event. On the occasion of his 70th birthday, the actor assured that the gray-haired image with a goatee and deep wrinkles was makeup.
According to the movie legend, he is preparing for a new role as an old man, which is why he appeared in this way. A post with an explanation and gratitude appeared on his Instagram page.
"Recently, many friends saw my recent photos on the Internet, and they were all concerned about my health. I'd like to take this opportunity to tell everyone: don't worry, it's just a scene for my latest movie. The character requires me to have white hair, a white beard, and look old," Jackie Chan wrote.
The actor emphasized that for 62 years he has been willing to take on new experiences – complex stunts, transformations, or other challenges on the set. That's why this time he tried on the image of a much older character, although he didn't reveal which movie.
"Even before today, many friends reminded me of this: "Jackie, your 70th birthday is coming up!" Every time I heard this number, my heart sank for a second – am I really 70 years old? After I recovered from the shock, the second thing that came to my mind were the words of my older brother, who once said: "The opportunity to grow old is happiness." Especially for us, stuntmen. We don't know how lucky we are to be able to grow old," added the hero of the cult action movies.
