Dancer and defender of Ukraine Nazar Hrabar burst into tears as he recalled the most terrible moment in the war. Video
Nazar Hrabar, a dancer and defender of Ukraine who joined the reserve because his brother Ilya was killed in the war, could not hold back his tears as he recalled the most frightening moment during his service. It happened when the artist was surrounded.
At that time, Nazar Hrabar's brother, who passed away in 2022, was still serving with him. The dancer spoke about this in an interview with the YouTube channel "TiKyiv".
"This first clash was serious when we were surrounded. We thought we would never get out. You will never forget the look in the guys' eyes. Everyone was scared, but there was not panic in their eyes, I don't even know how to describe it... When I looked at Ilia, he looked at me, smiled and said: "Don't worry, I won't let you eat lunch," the Armed Forces soldier recalled.
He could not hold back his tears, quoting the words of his fallen brother-hero. However, this and other terrible moments made the artist ready to die.
Nazar Hrabar believes that only a warrior who has accepted the possibility of death and cleared his head of fear can return home alive.
"On the fourth day of fighting, shelling, when we were surrounded, I remember sitting in a trench on observation, looking up at the sky, and my fear changed to calmness. I began to analyze and think about how happy my life was... Nothing material matters to me now," said the dancer.
Currently, the soldier is in the military reserve, has returned to modeling, and lives in Kyiv. Because of this, Ukrainians sometimes make comments to the star, but he always emphasizes that after his brother's death he became the only man in the family, so he returned to civilian life according to the law.
As OBOZ.UA wrote, Nazar and Ilia served in the same unit. The dancer was seriously injured and hospitalized when his comrades' positions came under fire. After learning of his loss, the wounded artist sobbed on his knees for the whole night.
