Distinguished world leaders, the royal family and subjects of the United Kingdom gathered in London, United Kingdom, on May 6 to witness the historic event - the coronation of the eldest son of the late Elizabeth II, 74-year-old Charles III and his wife Camilla. 2,000 guests arrived to greet the monarch, including a delegation from Ukraine - First Lady Olena Zelenska and Prime Minister Denis Shmygal. The solemn procession to Westminster Abbey began at 12:20 p.m. Kiev time, and the service began at 1 p.m.

What is planned for May 6.

- At 12:20 p.m. a procession with carriage, military and led by the King and Queen will march through London to Westminster Abbey.

- At 1:00 p.m. the church service will begin, witnessed by the King's distinguished guests, who have been arriving at the coronation site since the morning. During the ceremony, Charles III will be introduced to the people, after which he will recite the solemn oath, undergo the steps of the anointing, the investiture and the king will take place and be enthroned.

- After the service, the king and queen will go to Buckingham Palace and take to the balcony. All guests and subjects will be treated to a show of British aviation, which will close the first day of the coronation ceremony. In all, Britons will celebrate for three days, so Monday is a day off in Britain.

The Ukrainian president's wife arrived in London two days ago, where she has already managed to communicate with the monarch, Kate Middleton and other members of the royal family. Olena Zelenska also visited Downing Street at the invitation of British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his wife Akshata Murthy.
