A year and a half after Sinead O'Connor's death, it became known what the singer left to her children as a legacy
A year and a half after the death of the Irish music legend Sinead O'Connor, who passed away in July 2023, it became known what her children inherited. The artist left her descendants Jake Reynolds, Joshua Francis Neal, and Roisin £1.7 million (over $2 million).
However, according to The Sun tabloid, after paying off debts, the funeral ceremony, and legal fees, this amount decreased slightly. In the end, the celebrity's descendants were able to become the owners of £1.4 million (over $1.7 million).
In addition, in her will, Sinead O'Connor gave instructions on the future of her creative works. The singer wanted her descendants to be able to use her musical heritage "to the fullest".
"I have instructed that after my death, at the discretion of my children, who will be 18 years old by then, my albums should be released in such a way as to 'milk them to the fullest,'" the celebrity willed.
The legendary Irish singer asked her family to put her in a coffin dressed as a priest, with a Hebrew Bible and one of her albums, Theology, next to her. The executor of the will was appointed the artist's ex-husband, John Reynolds, with whom the star was married from 1987 to 1991.
Sinead O'Connor's heart stopped on July 26, 2023, at the age of 56. As stated in the singer's death certificate, the cause of the tragedy was "an exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and bronchial asthma, along with a low-grade lower respiratory tract infection."
Before the official information appeared in the foreign media, it was believed that the celebrity had passed away due to a complex cancer that she had been fighting for a long time. Another assumption was the deterioration of the musician's psychological state as a result of the death of her 17-year-old son Shane, who committed suicide.
