Charles III shows off his new portrait

On the occasion of the Armed Forces Day, the royal family has published a new official portrait of King Charles III in uniform. The photo was taken at Windsor Palace and appeared almost simultaneously with the greetings of Queen Consort Camilla.

The monarch is dressed in a ceremonial uniform with medals, a sword, and orders, and a headdress can be seen on his table. His Majesty is the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, the royal family's Instagram noted.

According to the BBC, the photo was taken in November last year. The royal photographer Hugo Bernando chose a corridor in the palace where a chair and a table were placed.

The sunlight successfully illuminated one part of the king's face as he looked at the camera, sitting half-turned. The monarch smiled slightly, keeping one hand on his sword and the other on the armrest.

Charles III was promoted to the rank of field marshal during the lifetime of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II. However, when he ascended the throne, he became the ceremonial head of the armed forces.

The ruler's wife addressed the British military, calling them "a source of inspiration, confidence and pride."
