Elina Mikhailovna Svitolina is a famous Ukrainian tennis player.

Brief Biography

Elina Svitolina was born in Odessa, September 12, 1994.

Svitolina began playing tennis professionally at the age of five.

Already at sixteen years Svitolina won the French Open tennis tournament among girls. Also in 2010 Svitolina reached the Wimbledon junior finals and won her first ITF tournament.

In 2012 Svitolina played in the ITF Brazilian Top 25 and then made her debut as a member of the Ukrainian National Team in the Fed Cup. At the same time Svitolina appeared in the second category - WTA, taking part in the Azerbaijani tournament.

In 2013, the athlete made her debut at the Australian Open, but already in the first match of the tournament lost to the fifth racket of the world. Elina Svitolina's unfortunate start to the year was made up for by her flawless victory at the ITF 75,000th tournament in Donetsk.

The next year, 2014, the Ukrainian was able to reach the third round of the Australian Open, and a year later, thanks to an exceptionally successful performance at the Grand Slam tournament, entered the top 20 tennis players in the world.

In 2018, Elina Svitolina won the International Tennis Tournament in Brisbane, as a result rising in the WTA ranking to the fourth place in the world, and already on January 29 reached the third place of the world ranking of tennis players.

As of 2019, Elina Svitolina ranks fifth in the WTA rankings. She is the owner of two titles in the WTA category, and two more in the ITF category.

Elina Svitolina is not married, she has no children.

In 2016, she started dating a famous cricket player from the UK, Reece Topley. However, in 2018, the couple broke up.
