Russian "shaheds" fell and detonated on the territory of Romania

In Romania for the first time recognized that parts of a Russian drone fell on their territory. Now the country plans to tighten security measures.

The corresponding information in a commentary to CNN confirmed the Romanian Defense Minister Angel Tilvar. According to him, the wreckage, which looks like the remains of a Russian "Shahed", was found near the village of Plauru - opposite the Ukrainian Izmail.

"We have surveyed a very large area, including the one that has been discussed in the public space, and I confirm that fragments that may be from the drone were found in that area," he said.

Tilwar added that the fragments found did not pose a threat. Now, he said, it is important to increase security measures: to make more observation points and patrols.

Recall that as recently as yesterday, Romanian President Klaus Iohannis said that "no parts of drones" or any other devices had fallen on the country's territory.

He added that during the last summit, NATO countries decided on the algorithm of actions in case "something falls on their territory", but this information is not public.

In addition, the Romanian Defense Ministry earlier this week denied that Russian UAV debris had fallen on the Romanian side of the Danube River.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL:

- On the night of September 4, during the massive attack of the Russian Federation on Odessa region, part of the "shaheds" fell and detonated on the territory of Romania. This was stated in the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

- The fallen drone on September 4 attacked the port of Izmail on the Danube River.

- In Romania heard the "hellish sounds" of explosions that disturbed the sleep of residents of Galati. Local media called the strike an attempt by Russia to block the export of Ukrainian grain through the Danube ports.

- Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that Romania had taken a pause to fully investigate the situation. According to him, the partners have tendencies to try not to escalate in order not to be involved in a war, but it is pointless to deny the obvious, as Ukraine has photographic evidence.
