At 13:10, a second explosion occurred at the facility

During a nighttime drone attack on a chemical plant in the Tula region of Russia, the Aleksinsky Chemical Plant, which specializes in gunpowder production, was severely damaged. The plant was attacked by at least 13 drones, causing extensive damage and a fire.

The company's staff was urgently evacuated. This was reported to OBOZ.UA by its own sources.

"At least 13 drones flew over the chemical plant at night. Due to the release of acids, the key target, the gunpowder production shop, is now smoking orange," the source said.

At 13:10, a second explosion occurred at the facility, causing chemical materials to catch fire, and the plant was shut down. Employees were promptly evacuated.

In addition, damage to the Aleksinska CHPP was confirmed, where a 110 kV high-voltage power line was damaged.

Earlier it became known that on the night of Saturday, November 9, SBU and SSO drones struck the Aleksinska Chemical Plant in the Tula region of Russia, which is an important facility of the Russian military-industrial complex (MIC). The enterprise, which is part of the Rostec corporation, produces ammunition, gunpowder, and other materials for the needs of the Russian army.

According to a source in the SBU, such attacks are part of a strategy to target facilities that support Russia's war against Ukraine. Strikes on warehouses, military bases, and manufacturing facilities that serve the Russian army significantly reduce Russia's ability to continue military operations.

It is worth noting that the local authorities did not officially recognize the defeat of the refinery: the governor of the Tula region, Dmitry Miliaev, assures that it all ended with broken glass in one of the private houses.
