"The situation is critical": MBA says Vovchansk is almost destroyed by Russian shelling

In recent days, the Russian invaders have not stopped shelling the city of Vovchansk in Kharkiv region. Due to the enemy's attacks, the town has been almost destroyed, and the situation there is extremely difficult.

Ukrainian soldiers control the city, but small groups of occupants are trying to enter the outskirts of Vovchansk, and small arms battles are taking place there. Tamaz Gambarashvili, the head of the Vovchansk city military administration, spoke about the current situation during the telethon.

"The situation today is as difficult and critical as yesterday and the day before. The enemy is constantly shelling the city. The city is almost destroyed. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are defending our city, it is completely under control, but small groups are trying to enter the outskirts of the city. That is why there is a small arms battle," the official said.

Gambarashvili added that the fighting on the outskirts of the city practically does not stop, as well as the incessant shelling by the enemy on the settlement, creating a catastrophic situation in Vovchansk.

"That is why the situation is extremely difficult. As for the town's residents, we are evacuating the population. Most people have left on their own in their cars. We are now dealing with those people who are unable to leave on their own," emphasized the head of Vovchansk MVA.

As a reminder, as of 10 a.m. on May 14, the General Staff confirmed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had changed their positions near Lukianets in Kharkiv region to save the lives of the military. They also said that dozens of enemy attacks took place on the contact line, most of which were still ongoing at the time of the report's publication.

It was also reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are combing the city's buildings in Vovchansk.
