On the morning of June 23, the aggressor country Russia launched Kalibr cruise missiles at Ukraine, which led to an air raid alert in almost all regions. The enemy targets were moving from the south towards the north and west.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine reported the danger. Explosions were heard in the capital region: air defense was activated, two targets were shot down, and there was damage due to falling debris.

The alert spread from the south to the west of Ukraine starting at 04:46. The enemy targets flew across Mykolaiv region in the direction of Kropyvnytskyi region, entering the airspace of Cherkasy, Kyiv and Zhytomyr regions.

The Kyiv Regional Military Administration confirmed the work of air defense in the region. They asked not to film or post the work of our defenders online.

"Explosions are heard in Kyiv, air defense forces are working in the region and in the capital. Stay in shelters!" added Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klychko.

Monitoring channels reported the downing of an air target in the Kyiv region. At the same time, enemy missiles continued to move to Khmelnytskyi region and further west.

The missile attack lasted for about an hour: the air alert was canceled after 05:40. The commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, Mykola Oleshchuk, reported the destruction of two Kalibr missiles over Kyiv region. The enemy launched three cruise missiles from the Sea of Azov.

Ruslan Kravchenko, head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, said that as of 08:00, two people had sought medical attention for minor injuries during the Russian missile attack.

As a result of the falling debris in one of the settlements, six high-rise buildings and more than 20 private houses were damaged. Windows and balconies were smashed, facades and roofs were cut.

The buildings of gas stations, pharmacies, businesses, an administrative building and three cars were also damaged. Operational services on the ground continued to record and eliminate the consequences of the attack.
