Danilov reveals the purpose of Russia's super-costly attacks on Kyiv
The purpose of Russia's super-expensive missile attacks on Kyiv is to try to raise the degree of patriotic hysteria within the aggressor country. The Ukrainian capital remains a manic and unattainable goal of Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin.
Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov said this on Twitter. He called the occupiers' attacks on Kyiv senseless.
"Kyiv remains Putin's manic and unattainable goal. Symbolic places in Kyiv are the target of Russian missile attacks. Senseless and costly attacks on the capital are necessary for the Kremlin to raise the degree of patriotic hysteria in the country. A process of despair and frustration with the authorities is developing in Russia amid the failure of the offensive and setbacks at the front," Danilov said.
Recall that on the morning of May 18, explosions were heard in Kyiv again. The air defences in the region were excellent, but the falling debris from the downed enemy targets caused fires and a number of damages.
This happened, in particular, in the Desnianskyi and Darnytskyi districts of the capital. The biggest damage was in the Darnytskyi district, where a fire broke out on the territory of a garage cooperative. The fire was extinguished.
As reported by OBOZREVATEL:
- The wreckage of one of the missiles shot down over Kyiv on May 18 fell on a garage co-operative. As a result, the fire damaged one of the boxes and a car inside;
- On May 16, there were also powerful explosions in Kyiv and the region: the Russian occupation forces attacked the Ukrainian capital for the eighth time with missiles and kamikaze drones. Air defences in the region performed well, shooting down all enemy targets, but their wreckage fell in several areas and there were casualties.
