Shubenkov speaks out about the Olympics

Russian athlete Sergei Shubenkov, in a patriotic frenzy, has endorsed Kremlin propaganda and refused to watch the Olympic Games in Paris. The representative of the 110-meter hurdles, who previously accused Ukrainians of "spoiling the holiday atmosphere" at international tournaments, called the upcoming competitions in the French capital uninteresting.

Shubenkov said this in an interview with Match TV, which had previously refused to broadcast the 2024 Olympic Games in Russia, which happened for the first time in 40 years. According to the 33-year-old 2015 world champion, he was disappointed in the Olympic movement because of the sanctions against the aggressor country.

"I'm relaxed and enjoying myself. The Olympics are going on without us! What can we do about it? This is an event that is worth worrying about, but I somehow worried about everything in 2016, and in 2021 I finished it. I'm not going to watch the Olympics! What haven't I seen there? In general, I'm a little disappointed in the Olympics, or something," said the henchman of Vladimir Putin's dictatorial regime.

The day before, two-time Olympic champion Denis Pankratov complained about the allegedly humiliating conditions for Russian athletes to enter the Paris Games and expressed confidence that they would be booed.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, Olympic champion Irina Rodnina made a fabulous claim that world sports "cannot live" without Russia.
