Romasenko told how she communicates with Ukrainians

Russian speed skater Olesya Romasenko, who competed at the 2024 Olympics in the so-called neutral status, admitted that she has no contact with Ukrainians. The 34-year-old athlete noted that the athletes of the two countries do not communicate with each other "in order not to raise painful topics."

Romasenko said this in an interview with Sport24. The Russian woman, who took part in the 200-meter canoe single event, added that she communicates well with representatives of Poland, and there are no provocations or conflicts at the tournament.

"I talked to the Poles here normally, I was on the bus recently. Despite the fact that I lost, I received congratulations. We try not to talk, not to start dialogues, so as not to raise sore subjects. We just pass each other. We cross paths all the time-in the dining room, somewhere else. But no one has provoked the other - neither to talk nor to conflict," Romasenko said.

It should be noted that the athlete completed her performance in the quarterfinals, in which our Anastasia Rybachok won her race. The day before, the Ukrainian had to paste over a patriotic inscription on her boat.
