Russian fencer Olga Nikitina, who is one of the rivals of Ukrainian Olha Kharlan, will not compete at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. The 25-year-old saber fencer failed to pass the test for compliance with the criteria of a "neutral athlete" because she belongs to the Russian criminal army.

Nikitina said this in an interview with the propaganda news agency TASS. The winner of the Tokyo 2020 Games in the team tournament pompously added that she would never compete in the French capital as she considers the conditions of admission for representatives of the aggressor country unfair.

"I, as a military woman, am not allowed. Even if I had been allowed, I would not have gone in the current situation anyway. I would not have participated as a neutral athlete. That's why I don't care now. My goal now is to reach the level of fencing that both me and my coach think I can show. I have this goal now, and I am trying, training and working towards it," Nikitina said.

The day before, the daughter of Stanislav Pozdnyakov, head of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), was demanded to give up her Tokyo 2020 gold medals.
