Fevbet Super League debutant wins the championship on the first attempt

Favbet Superleague debutant Rivne-OSHVSM won its first match in the elite, defeating Staryi Lutsk 82-61 at the start of the bubble in Ivano-Frankivsk.

The Rivne team started the game very confidently with an 8-0 run and won the first quarter 23-8, primarily by winning the rebounding battle and thanks to fast breaks (9 points after Lutsk's first quarter losses).

It seemed that the Rivne team would have no problems in the game, but Rivne played poorly in the second quarter as Staryi Lutsk corrected its shortcomings, played more securely under the basket, was more aggressive with the ball, and reduced its deficit to 3 points at the end of the second quarter. Only Joyner's long-range shot at the buzzer allowed Rivne to gain a more or less comfortable lead at the half, 34-28.

The third quarter started with two points for Lutsk, but then the next four minutes they failed - Rivne made a 12-0 run, regained a comfortable lead and did not allow any more failures, bringing the game to victory.

Elijah Joyner was Rivne's best player, setting a new season high with 24 points, adding 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 3 steals. RE 34.

Anton Musienko was the best performer for Staryi Lutsk, scoring 17 points and grabbing 5 rebounds. Tomorrow, October 7, Staryi Lutsk will play against Polytechnic-Galicia, and Rivne will meet Kyiv-Baskett.
