"Doesn't solve anything": Russian Olympic champion reacts with contempt to Poland's support for Ukraine

Zhurova criticised the Poles

Olympic speed skating champion Svetlana Zhurova urged Russians to ignore Poland's plans to form a coalition that would prevent Russia from participating in the 2024 Olympics. The State Duma deputy spoke dismissively of Ukraine's ally and called the initiative Russophobic.

Zhurova said this in an interview with the propaganda TV channel RT. She expressed confidence that the Poles would not be supported by the United States of America, and that the world allegedly has full support for Russia in the issue of admission to international competitions.

"The coalition that Poland is assembling is not the whole world. There are only 36 countries. I assume that the United States will not join this association. And the Poles will be very surprised that America will not. The US will not violate its human rights principles. Therefore, the Polish Ministry of Sport can do whatever they want. No one will take them seriously. If there was a vote with the countries of Asia, Africa and Latin America, our country would be allowed to participate in all competitions, along with the flag and anthem. So we should not even pay attention to these Russophobic attacks from Poland. It does not solve anything," Zhurova said.

Earlier, State Duma deputy Dmitry Svishchev said that "no one has the right to dictate terms to the International Olympic Committee" and immediately demanded that it allow the aggressors to compete.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) has spoken about the "sports world" and demanded "equality and respect" from the IOC, as well as admission to the 2024 Olympics.
