Leaders of Azovstal's defence returned to Ukraine

The Azov commanders who led the defence of Mariupol in the spring of 2022 and were in Turkey after returning from Russian captivity, Denys Prokopenko, Svyatoslav Palamar, Serhiy Volynskyi, Oleg Khomenko, and Denys Shleha, have returned to Ukraine. So far, Redis, Kalyna, Volyna and other leaders of Azovstal's defenders have been in Turkey after returning from Russian captivity.

This was announced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy following his visit to Turkey. He also posted a video of the long-awaited meeting of the fighters (to watch the video, scroll to the end of the news).

"We are returning home from Turkey and bringing our heroes home. Ukrainian soldiers Denys Prokopenko, Svyatoslav Palamar, Serhiy Volynskyi, Oleh Khomenko and Denys Shleha will finally be with their families. Glory to Ukraine!" - the President wrote.

The soldiers flew back home with Zelenskyy and the head of the President's Office, Andriy Yermak. The footage shows how the latter showed the defenders a video of a morning trip to Zmiinyi.
