On Wednesday, September 11, U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and British Foreign Secretary David Lammy arrived in Kyiv. They will take part in the Crimean Platform summit.

Footage of the officials at the Kyiv railway station has been posted online. Earlier, Western media reported that Blinken and Lemmy could bring to Ukraine the news of the lifting of restrictions on the use of Western weapons to strike military targets in Russia.

In particular, a short video with the U.S. Secretary of State and the British Foreign Secretary was posted by CBS reporter Olivia Gazis.

"Secretary Blinken and Lemmy have arrived in sunny Kyiv," she wrote on her X network account at 11:52 a.m. Kyiv time.

The published photos and videos also show the former commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and now the Ukrainian ambassador to the UK, Valeriy Zaluzhny.

Prior to his trip to Ukraine, Blinken reportedly visited London to discuss further support for Ukraine with British partners.

During a joint press conference with the US Secretary of State on September 10, Lemmy announced his visit to Kyiv.

"Today I can confirm that this week Tony (Anthony Blinken - Ed.) and I will be traveling to Kyiv, the first joint visit of this kind in more than 10 years. We are close allies, so I am delighted that we will be traveling together to demonstrate our commitment to Ukraine," the British Foreign Secretary said.

According to the American side, during their visit to Kyiv, Blinken and Lemmy will meet with Zelenskyy and members of the Ukrainian government. The key topic for discussion is the continuation of support in the war with Russia and how to ensure Ukraine's economic long-term military development.

At the same time, as some Western media outlets have stated, Blinken and Lemmy may give Kyiv permission to use Western long-range weapons to hit military targets deep in Russia.

In particular, Axios journalist Juligrace Brufke wrote about this with reference to the words of the chairman of the US House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee, Michael McCaul.

"I spoke with Blinken two days ago, and he's going to Kyiv with his counterpart from the UK to basically tell them that they will allow [to strike Russia with ATACMS]," the journalist quoted McCaul as saying.

It is possible that the impetus for the US to revise its policy of restrictions was the recent news of Iran's transfer of ballistic missiles to Russia.

"Anyone who provides assistance to Russia - whether it is direct lethal assistance, like Iran or North Korea, or assistance to their defense industrial base, like China - perpetuates the war, fuels the conflict... Russia poses the greatest threat to European security since the end of the Cold War," Blinken said at a press conference in London.

Blinken called Iran's transfer of Fath-360 short-range ballistic missiles to Russia a "dramatic escalation" of the war.

On September 12, the US Secretary of State will travel to Poland. He is to discuss with the Polish government the deepening of defense and energy cooperation and the joint work of Warsaw and Washington as NATO members in military support of Ukraine.

Earlier, OBOZ.UA reported that on September 11, Kyiv is hosting the next summit of the Crimean Platform, announced by the President of Ukraine the day before. High-ranking foreign guests have been arriving in the Ukrainian capital since the morning.

They will take part in the summit, which this time has five large and important issues on its agenda.
